Leading the social media charge in an industrial B2B world is not an easy task. To date, companies in the industrial sector have been slow to adopt the technology — which has been exploding over the past 10 to 15 years — thinking that their industrial customers simply aren’t there. But the tides are shifting – social media marketing budgets are projected to double in the next five years (Source: Social Times).
We at Two Rivers Marketing know that social is no longer a trend, and because we believe that doing is the best way to learn, we’re kicking off Social September — a month-long event designed to promote social media awareness, education and participation among our associates. By encouraging our associates to “get social,” we believe our clients will ultimately see the benefits — because the best way for us to educate and serve them in the social media space is for us to be out there experiencing it ourselves.
The month’s activities will start off with a bang, with a launch party encouraging associates to always #postresponsibly (there may or may not be T-shirts and koozies involved). Activities include lunch ’n’ learns focusing on topics such as LinkedIn (it’s not just for job seekers anymore!) and brand advocacy on social media. We’re leveraging our creative associates to deck out the agency common areas with social media graphics and we’ll be highlighting fun associate-created content all month long. To top it off, prizes will be awarded for associate social media participation on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram, among others.
According to Social Media Today, 83 percent of B2B marketers invest in social media to increase brand exposure. Social media can help you do that in a big way. We know that our associates are our most valuable resource, and we understand the power an individual can have on social media. (Our associates have 8,600 combined followers on Twitter!) As such, they’re also the best kind of advocate. With the help of our associates, we can help spread the word about 2RM and the great work we do (and the fun we have while doing it).
Do you know if your employees are advocates of your brand? Chances are, they’re talking about you on social media. The question is: Are you leveraging it?
Be sure to check in with us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ all this month to stay updated on our activities for Social September. And don’t forget to #postresponsibly.
