The old saying that “time is money” has a slightly different corollary in the compost industry: Space is money. The more compost you can stack in less space, the higher your profit.

The premier elevating-face compost turner in the industry, the Vermeer® CT1010TX, was engineered to stack compost in a single pile, without the wasted space created when using windrows. So when the product was launched at the 2008 Vermeer Customer Conference, the goal was to reach the most highly qualified prospects with information they couldn’t ignore.

Using a campaign theme of “More Waste in Less Space,” Two Rivers Marketing created a trade ad for key waste publications, product literature, and a bimonthly direct mail campaign aimed at compost facilities and the mulch industry. In addition, Customer Conference visitors had a welcome gift waiting in their hotel rooms: a t-shirt, a free personal DVD player with introductory video, the Vermeer “Guide to Composting” brochure, and a miniature composting bucket. The custom CT1010TX welcome gift was designed to engage key prospects and encourage them to view the new Vermeer CT1010TX at the sales site and talk with a Vermeer compost specialist at the event.
